We believe the Bible is God’s Word and the foundation for our faith and life. These core beliefs shape who we are as a church and how we live out our faith together.
One God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
- We believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of all things visible and invisible.
- We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God—the eternal Word and our one and only Savior. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, fully human and fully divine. He lived a sinless life, suffered and was crucified as an atonement for sin, rose bodily from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven, and will return in victory to rule forever.
- We believe in the Holy Spirit, who convicts of sin, dwells in every believer, helps us in our weakness, intercedes for us in prayer, and empowers us to live a fruitful Christian life.
The Gospel — The Good News of Salvation
- We believe that humanity, created by God, willfully sinned against Him and is therefore lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ.
- We believe that salvation—the forgiveness of sins—is by grace alone through the blood of Jesus Christ.
- We believe that a person receives salvation by placing faith in Christ, repenting of sin, and confessing Him as Lord. The Bible also commands every believer to be baptized by immersion.
- We believe that those who have received salvation are sent into the world to proclaim the Gospel and to love and serve others as Jesus did.
The Bible — God’s Word
- We believe God inspired the original writings of Scripture, and that they were without error.
- We believe the Bible is the final authority for all matters of faith, truth, morality, and Christian living.
- We believe God is the Creator and Sustainer of human life, that each person is made in His image, and that life is sacred from conception to natural death.
- We believe God created each person as male or female, and that these two distinct, complementary genders reflect the image of God. A person’s biological gender is an intrinsic and unchangeable aspect of identity.
- We believe God established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage.
- We believe in the Church of Jesus Christ, established at Pentecost, consisting of all Christians everywhere and expressed through local churches.
The Church — God’s Redeemed People
- We believe every Christian should be an active member of a local church.
- We believe the elders of the church serve as overseers and shepherds, responsible for teaching, guiding, and caring for the church body.
- We believe the Bible calls church members to meet regularly for fellowship, worship, teaching, and the Lord’s Supper.
- We believe every believer is called to use their gifts and abilities to serve others.
- We believe in loving, accepting, and forgiving one another, and pursuing unity and peace within the church.
- We believe in bearing one another’s burdens and praying for one another.
- We believe in encouraging one another toward love and good deeds.
- We believe in submitting to church leadership and supporting the church faithfully, including financially.
- We believe in pursuing personal holiness and obedience to God’s Word.
- We believe in working together to fulfill the Great Commission.
